There is a wide range of options for professionals with college degrees in the job market. This study targets detecting how much of the expectations of alumni or advanced students are being fulfilled by lato sensu graduate programs in project management, as well as to identify how much of the expectations of the job market are also being fulfilled by the skills professed by the alumni of such programs in recruitment exercises. The study was carried out as a data collection form through the application of structured questionnaires circulated and applied to participants of professional social networks. A set of qualitative-quantitative data was rated and results analyzed using the cognitive linguistic technique. The job market of the project management area requires professionals to be particularly proficient in management techniques, cognitive, psychological and social skills. Therefore, the definition of curricula for the advanced training of professionals in the area must be done in a very comprehensive, open, versatile way, adopting a study curriculum compatible with the hegemonic group of the region, industry or business sector privileged by the institution that houses the training program
